It's persimmon season and D and I go to Blossom Bluff, a delicious fruit stand at the farmers market and get inspired by HOSHIGAKI! A Japanese autumn/winter delicacy, a whole new way of enjoying this amazing fruit.
First step is to peel it, then hang it and wait till these sugar crystals form on the outside of the drying fruit. Then comes the lomi lomi which is the massage, yup we massage the fruit inside till it becomes soft and even more delicious?
I'll keep track of the progress. So far the whole process seems pretty cool and I'm excited to taste the out come.
Yummm.
